Emerging Vision
The sweat lodge vision is evolving with input and approval by indigenous communities and the Regenerative Living Institute.
- A permanent sweat lodge serving the local community and the Eastern Band of Cherokee
- Stewarded by Native American principles (including the Eastern Band of Cherokee) and regenerative principles (see Regenerative Living Institute principles).
- Primary meeting place for Eastern Band of Cherokee ceremonies
- Bylaws, constitution, governance, cultural, communication, mediation, peacemaking agreements developed, facilitated and stewarded by the Native American community and Regenerative Living Institute
Structure
- 20-30 people, 30-40 shoulder to shoulder, 20 feet x 30 feet, 8 and 9 foot maximum ceilings, radiating down to 6 feet
- Natural building system, intricate design and craftsmanship
- Ceremony lodge, hosting all types of ceremonies, astrological and grounding, nature connections
- Four doors, tiered seating, earthen floor, basket womb, one or two natural ponds, living roof, ceiling of large timbers, layered with solid wood, membrane, soil, herbs, and vines growing up the sides
